We've teamed up with Town & Country Fires on their 42nd Birthday, and to celebrate we're giving YOU the chance to win a Pickering stove worth £1140!

An outstanding stove, the Pickering looks much larger than its 5kw output would suggest, and has been designed with the largest window possible, to give you a flawless view of the flames.

As with all Town & Country Fire's new stoves, the Pickering is ‘ECODESIGN ready’, so has very low emissions, making it a fantastic choice for the environmentally conscious. The stove is also approved for use in ‘smoke control zones’, having a 81.9% efficiency, an energy class of A+ and an Energy Efficiency index of 109%, there are so many reasons to choose the Pickering as your next stove.

Eco Design is a European directive that will be implemented from 1st January 2022 to reduce CO, NOx, Hydro Carbon and DIN Plus Particulate emissions emitted from a wood / solid fuel stove. The Pickering is up to 70% below the emission requirements of Eco Design 2022 making it one of the most efficient clean burning stoves available.

You may have heard in the news at the beginning of this year that there are strict new rules coming into force regarding wood-burning stoves, as part of The Clean Air Strategy – This stove is one of 8 that Town and Country Fires manufacture that are ‘Eco Design Ready’ with very low emissions, so no need to worry about this.

Town and Country Fires is a family run business based in Pickering on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors. Once farmers, the Thurlow family took the big decision to diversify and as a consequence started the stove business in 1977.

Town and Country Fires are one of the very few stove people who actually make the stoves from start to finish. We design and perfect the combustion in the stoves, so that they out-perform some of the very best stoves across the world. We buy the best British steel, cut it accurately with a laser cutter, then bend it with a C.N.C. press. The metal formed shapes are then passed to our robot welder which produces high penetration, extremely accurate joints. Once the bodies have been produced in this way, they are finished by hand, which includes shot blasting to enable a good penetration of paint. Some of the stoves are completely handmade, by staff who have worked for us for many years. – The complete production process takes place in our factory in Pickering.
