HAÇIENDA CLASSICAL – the stunning live music event which brings the iconic sounds and unique atmosphere of the legendary club – is heading to Scarborough Open Air Theatre on 7th July 2017!

The critically acclaimed show, which has been a smash hit with dance and classical fans young and old since its debut in 2016, will be performed at Europe’s largest outdoor theatre on Friday July 7.

Haçienda Classical sees the original DJs who shaped the ground-breaking Manchester club’s sound – Mike Pickering and Graeme Park – collaborate with the Manchester Camerata for a night of classic dance music, innovatively adapted and arranged especially for the occasion.

As The Haçienda’s dance heritage collided with the world of classical music, the concerts have been widely praised with dates selling out in minutes and great audience responses from the gigs.

Graeme Park said: “I am excited about this year's tour and the new set. I'm currently enjoying digging deep into my huge record collection to find new tracks for 2017’s shows and I'm already having heated debates with Mike Pickering about which tracks will work and what we should include in the final mix.

“There's such a rich seam of music to mine from the 1980s and 1990s, and it's immense fun trying to decide what will ultimately make the cut. The pressure is on, but I'm enjoying it greatly.”

Following the success of the live shows Haçienda Classical the album was released by Sony Classical. The LP features the full live set of last year’s concerts and includes versions of Someday, You Don't Know Me, String Of Life/ Good Life as well as Rowetta's stunning encore of You Got The Love.

Musical director, conductor and arranger Tim Crooks added: “Haçienda Classical with Manchester Camerata in 2016 set a new benchmark for a live show with DJs, singers and orchestra, and we're still buzzing from entertaining so many people with it. We're making the show even better for 2017 - it's going to be epic!”

Scarborough OAT promoter Peter Taylor, of Cuffe and Taylor, said: “Scarborough OAT was built for live concerts like this. Bringing Haçienda Classical to this wonderful venue is really exciting for us.

“It is a show that has such a wide appeal, whether you are a regular clubber, you want to reminisce about your youth or you enjoy the appeal of something completely new presented by magnificently talented musicians. This will be a stunning night at Scarborough OAT.”

Haçienda Classical join Kaiser Chiefs, Little Mix, Jess Glynne, Olly Murs, Madness, Cliff Richard, The Beach Boys, UB40 featuring Ali, Astro and Mickey Virtue, George Benson, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe, 80s v 90s night and indie stars The Charlatans among the star-studded headliners at Scarborough OAT in 2017.

A near two-hour blend of house music's greatest players with an audience dancing and singing from the off. Dazzling mirror-ball speckles are flung out over a crowd whose jubilant euphoria almost blows the roof off."

"Probably the best rave since 1997. A night of soaring synth riffs, euphoric drops, massive tunes." – NME
