New website

It’s only when you stop and think that you realise how much things have changed over the years.

Pre 1993, for local news and information each day you bought the Scarborough Evening News.  It was the only way of getting to know what was going on in the area.  Then in November 1993, we came along.  Yorkshire Coast Radio began broadcasting live news and information, and updating throughout the day.  All you had to do was turn us on, and hear the latest, along with an entertaining mix of music and conversation.

Much has changed since 1993.  Along came the internet.  The local daily paper was replaced by a weekly.  Social media changed the way we communicate, and the technology enabled us to do all of this from our mobile phones.

Some things haven’t changed.  22 years later and Yorkshire Coast Radio is still providing an unrivalled service of local news and information, together with a mix of great songs and entertainment.  Despite all of the changes mentioned above, we are just as popular as ever, with close to half of the area’s population tuning in each week.

Today, Yorkshire Coast Radio is so much more than just what you hear coming out of your speakers when you turn us on, whether that be at home, at work, or in the car.

Today, Yorkshire Coast Radio is a provider of more news and information than ever before, made available to you on a variety of platforms.

Our new website is designed to provide you with the one place you can go for everything you need.  Whether it’s the latest news and information, details of job vacancies, or events taking place in the area or money-saving offers, this is the place to come.

We’ve got so much more to add in the weeks to come, so bookmark us and make us your first choice for everything you need along the Yorkshire Coast.
