Whitby Second After Latest Victory

Whitby Cricket Club sit second in North Yorkshire South Durham Division One after a third straight victory, on Saturday.

Kai Morris' men struck 234/6 from 50 overs, after being asked to bat by visitors Darlington, at the Turnbull Ground.

Morris himself fired 44 and brother Fin top-scored with 69, before Theo Clarke thumped an unbeaten 34 from 23 balls.

Fin Morris then followed this up with 5 for 30 with the ball, while Joe Husband took 3 for 10 in 29 balls, at the end of the innings.

Darlington staggered to 110 all out, with more than eight overs remaining, while Whitby are now just five points behind leaders Stockton.

Folkton & Flixton are third in Yorkshire Premier League North East 1, following their latest win.

The villagers won by 24 runs in a low-scoring encounter with Londesborough Park.

Their opponents, based near Market Weighton, East Yorkshire, won the toss and opted to field first.

Opener Ed Hopper notched 35 and despite being 42/0, Folkton & Flixton stumbled to 132 all out in the final over.

Londesborough must've felt confident chasing a modest total, but if they were, they didn't account for Rich Malthouse, who took 5 for 19 in eight overs.

His fellow opening bowler Connor Stephenson took 2 for 26 and skipper Harry Walmsley's 2 for 4 in 14 balls saw Park skittled for 108, in under 30 overs.

Bridlington are hot on their heels in fourth after an 87 run thumping of Cottingham at Dukes Park.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Brid amassed 199/8 from their 40 overs, before bowling out their visitors for 112 in the 33rd over.
