Scarborough Athletic made it two wins in two as all our local football sides played away on Saturday.

In a thrilling turnaround, Darren Kelly's men came from behind to win 3-2 at Gainsborough Trinity.

Joseph Maguire put Boro's Lincolnshire hosts ahead, eight minutes before half-time, but crucially James Walshaw levelled seconds ahead of the interval. Within eight minutes of the restart, Declan Bacon put Trinity back ahead, only for in-form Isaac Assenso to level, for the Seadogs, with fourteen minutes left. Connor Thomson then sent the travelling support home happy with a last-gasp winner.

In contrast, Whitby Town are without a league win since October after a 2-1 defeat at Stalybridge Celtic.

Chris Smalley broke the deadlock for Celtic on 18 minutes and the North West side doubled their advantage 12 minutes into the second half- Darius Osei on target. Depleted Whitby ended the game with two central defenders up front, but it was another who found the net, five minutes from time, as Alex White netted, but it wasn't enough as the Blues' barren run continues. Manager Chris Hardy was less than impressed:

Bridlington Town are up to fifth in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier after a 1-0 win at promotion rivals Hemsworth Miners Welfare.

Chris Adams netted the winner, just six minutes in, to leave Brett Agnew's men just seven points behind leaders Penistone Church, with four games in hand.
