Scarborough Athletic's Results 'Speak For Themselves'

John Deacey and Trevor Bull

Scarborough Athletic's Chairman hopes the vacancy for a new manager is filled 'quite quickly'.

John Deacey and the club mutually parted ways last night.

Trevor Bull, Chairman of Scarborough Athletic, said:

"The results speak for themselves; I think we've played 23 games and we've only won five of them so it's just not good enough.

At the end of the day, it's results that matter and we just haven't been getting the results.

We've given John every opportunity to turn the situation around, but unfortunately it just hasn't happened.

Yes, we've had injuries, we've had a bit of bad luck and it has to be said, that some of the goals we've conceded have been individual errors but at the end of the day, we need someone to be addressing all those so now we have to find somebody else."

John was chosen earlier this year after an application process in which he met all the criteria that Scarborough Athletic's Board had created.

"The great thing is we had in the region of 50 applications the last time, so we know the people that are interested.

So that will probably be our first port of call to look through that list and see who's still interested.

I'm hoping that we'll be able to fill the vacancies quite quickly this time, as we don't really want to go through an elongated selection process like we did the last time."

Trevor has been speaking to Yorkshire Coast Radio's Paddy in the Morning:
