An injury time goal for visitors Gloucester City mean Whitby face a Monday trek in the FA Cup, while Scarborough Athletic lost out again, on Saturday.

Pressure remains on Seadogs boss John Deacey after a 1-0 defeat at high-flying Mickleover Sports:

The Boro lost out to a first-half strike from ex-Coventry City striker Lee Hughes.

Whitby will have to replay down at Gloucester City on Monday night in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup after conceding a late leveller in a 1-1 draw yesterday. The Blues missed a penalty before Danny Rowe converted a second spot kick, moments later. However, a 93rd minute Joe Hanks header disappointed the home support and caused the headache of a 456-mile round trip to arrange within 48 hours for manager Chris Hardy:

In the Toolstation Northern Counties East League - Bridlington Town also drew 1-1, at Yorkshire Amateur.

Ashley Flynn opened the scoring on 18 minutes for the Bradford-based hosts, but Brid battled back as Josh Greening levelled, 12 minutes into the second half. The result leaves Brett Agnew's men in sixth spot, but only three points behind leaders Grimsby Borough.

In rugby, both our local sides had good wins. Scarborough defeated Moortown 22-14 and Bridlington beat Hullensians 48-17.
