Scarborough Cricket Club secured a dramatic eight-run success, on an otherwise disappointing day for our major cricket sides.

Number eight Matthew Pillans' half century proved vital as Scarborough battled to 164 all out with one ball remaining.

Ben Elvidge then grabbed four wickets and Linden Gray earned 5/30, including the vital final scalp of tail-ender Jonathan Anderson, for a duck, as hosts Dunnington were left eight runs short in the 48th over.

Folkton & Flixton battled to a last-wicket draw against Sheriff Hutton Seconds. Hutton made 199/7 from their 50 overs, with Harry Walmsley finishing with figures of 4/57. Walmsley then starred with the bat as he notched 50 but the villagers were made to battle, scraping to 167/9 as they narrowly avoided defeat.
