Scarborough Athletic have announced that their pre-season preparations will involve a trip down the A64 to face rivals York City.

The fixture on Saturday 20th July at 1pm is expected to be the last opportunity the seadogs will have to play at Bootham Crescent before the Minstermen move to the outskirts of York in a new Community Stadium, due for opening in late 2019.

Boro last visited Bootham Crescent on Boxing Day 2005, losing 3-1, with a teenage Michael Coulson in the Scarborough FC squad and a younger Dave Merris on the York City bench, played in front of 4921 spectators. Boro won the previous season's fixture at Bootham Crescent 2-1, with late goals from Tony Hackworth and Chris Senior.

Earlier this year Boro knocked City out of the North Riding Senior cup with a dramatic penalties win in the semi-final.
