Scarborough suffered back to back defeats in Yorkshire Premier League North, as Yorkshire Academy beat them by seven wickets on Saturday.

Ben Elvidge smashed an unbeaten 101, but the next highest score was Darren Harland's 21 as Scarborough struggled to 200/7 from their 50 overs. Their hosts strolled to victory with more than ten overs to spare as Scarborough slip to fourth in the table.

Flixton and Folkton also lost, by 73 runs- at home to Easingwold, in the York and District Premier. Easingwold made 232/5, from 47 overs, in a rain-affected encounter. Bizarrely, the target stayed the same despite Flixton and Folkton having only 40 overs to chase. Number eleven Jamie Nesfield top scored with 36 as they were bundled out for 159.

Leaders Bridlington had to settle for a winning draw at Woodhouse Grange in Division Two. In a match reduced to 46 overs a side- Brid were bowled out for 174 with Sam Edmundson top scoring on 45. In reply, Woodhouse got within five runs, but lost eight wickets- Tom Kirby took three of them.

Whitby had the same result- against Sedgefield- in the North Yorkshire South Durham First Division. Half centuries for Theo Smith and Fin Morris gave Whitby the luxury of declaring on 241/5 with two overs remaining. Rain reduced Sedgefield's reply to 46 overs, they couldn't get near the hosts' total as Morris took two wickets and skipper Will Donald three, but they kept four in hand to take a losing draw.
