Scarborough lost by 34 runs at home to Stamford Bridge and Whitby suffered a losing draw against Saltburn, after rain intervened.

There was better news for Bridlington, who had a comfortable eight wicket win over Dunnington.

Scarborough's defeat was their first this season in the Yorkshire Premier North. Visitors Stamford Bridge posted 195-9, batting first, at North Marine Road as Matthew Pillans and Linden Gray took three wickets each. Sam Drury and Casey Rudd gave Scarborough a fine opening partnership, but both fell just short of a half century and a lower-order collapse saw them skittled for 161.

Brid fared better, in Division Two, as they eased past Dunnington, by eight wickets. Simon Leeson finished with figures of seven for nine as Dunnington slumped to 57 all out, at Dukes Park. Sam Wragg's unbeaten 25 then saw the hosts home for the loss of two wickets.

Saltburn's 182 proved enough despite them failing to bowl out hosts Whitby, who finished on 148 for seven. Earlier, Joseph Husband had taken four wickets and Will Donald three as the away side failed to bat out their overs. Whitby stumbled to 55 for six, in reply, before Theo Clarke's 39 and Husband's unbeaten 38, gave them hope, but they finished 34 runs short, with three wickets remaining.
