The Flamingo Land Stadium hosted two Scarborough League football finals yesterday.

In an all-second division encounter, Snainton defeated Edgehill Reserves 4-2 in the League Trophy.

Before Scott Wardman's three shoot-out saves saw West Pier beat Hunmanby United on penalties to take the League Cup.

Olly Milner had put Hunmanby ahead, with a 25-yard screamer, but Rich Holliday levelled early in the second half for Pier. Taylor Jordan put West ahead for the first time, in the final ten minutes of extra-time, but substitute Cameron Dobson fired in a quickfire United equaliser to force the shoot-out. Wardman's blocks ensured a 3-1 victory, for his side, on penalties.

Snainton's win, meanwhile, was helped hugely by striker Ryan Collings netting all four of their goals.

Collings netted early on, but Josh Fergus equalised for the second-tier champions and Junior Cup winners, early in the second period. However, Collings quickly notched twice more around the midway point of the second half, including a run from halfway. The hotshot soon made it four but ex-Pickering star Joel Ramm's header made for a nervy conclusion, but Snainton held on for the victory.
