Scarborough Athletic ended their Evo-Stik NPL Premier season with a convincing 5-1 victory over relegated Workington, yesterday.

Goals from Michael Coulson and Wayne Brooksby took John Deacey's men in two up at the break, with Flynn McNaughton, Luke Lofts and leading scorer James Walshaw putting the result beyond doubt, in the second half.

The result means the Seadogs finish 8th, with Walshaw the division's joint top scorer.

Whitby Town also secured a top half finish, but lost 2-1 despite taking the lead at Lancaster City.

The Blues opened the scoring, early in the second half, through former Middlesbrough striker Bradley Fewster. However, strikes from Glenn Steel and ex-Leeds United midfielder David Norris sent the points to the North West.

Brett Agnew's men won 6-3 at Maltby Main as they finish third in the league.

Joe McFadyen hit a hat-trick, with Jake Day bagging a brace and Benn Lewis also on target.
