Boro Still In Play Off Race Ahead Of Easter Clash

In the Evo-Stik Premier League Premier Division, Scarborough Athletic beat Grantham Town 2-0 yesterday, to keep alive their faint play off hopes.

Goals from James Walshaw and Michael Coulson just about keep Athletic in the hunt, though they need maximum points from their last two games and for both Buxton and Gainsborough not to win either of theirs.

The Seadogs also face a tough trip to title-chasing South Shields on Easter Monday, finishing the campaign at home to relegated Workington, next Saturday.

Elsewhere, Whitby Town lost 2-0 at Witton Albion. Manager Chris Hardy made a triple substitution at half time such was his frustration.

There was better news in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League as Bridlington Town won 1-0 away at Bottesford Town. Local lad Joe McFadyen was on target as Brid end their season in third, hoping for a possible promotion to the Evo Stik League, depending on changes above them.
