Published at 9:07am 10th March 2019.

It was a great afternoon for our local football trio.

In the Evo-Stik Premier League, Scarborough Athletic won 2-1 at Marine as their Merseyside hosts missed a late penalty. James Walshaw and Michael Coulson had put Boro two up early on. After the Mariners pulled one back, click below to see the contentious penalty given against the Seadogs and hear Paddy's commentary from Yorkshire Coast Radio Extra.

Scarborough are now just a point behind fifth-placed Gainsborough Trinity as they battle for a play-off place.

Elsewhere- Brad Fewster made it four goals in two games as Whitby Town came from behind to win 3-1 at Bamber Bridge. Adam Gell also netted as the Seasiders rose to 11th. Here's Blues boss Chris Hardy talking to Paul Connolly:

Bridlington Town made it a hat-trick as they stay third in the Northern Counties East Premier after beating Yorkshire Amateur 3-0. Joe McFadyen, Jake Day and Nathan Modest were on target for Brid.
