Blues & Brid bag wins but Boro falter

football extra 1200x800

It was a mixed day for our local football sides on Saturday.

In the Evo-Stik NPL Premier- Scarborough Athletic suffered another blow to their promotion hopes- as hosts Witton Albion came from behind to win 2-1- despite Jamie Walshaw's 19th minute opener.

Here's how Paddy saw it on Yorkshire Coast Radio Extra:

Whitby Town had a better time of it as former Middlesbrough striker Bradley Fewster netted twice on debut, with Matty Tymon also bagging a brace, as the Seasiders crushed Basford United 4-1.

Blues boss Chris Hardy was understandably delighted as he caught up with Whitby Town's Media and Communications Manager Paul Connolly after the game:

In the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier- Bridlington Town won 3-1 at Thackley. Joe McFadden scored two of the goals, though it was Jake Day's third minute strike that got things started. Brid are now up to third in the table.
