Scarborough's FA Cup Dream Over

Scarborough Athletic F C 2017

Published at 5:14pm 14th October 2017.

Scarborough Athletics dreams of a place in the first round of the FA Cup are over after a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Hyde United in the fourth qualifying round.

A crowd of 2003 people saw the seadogs exit the competition at the Flamingo Land Stadium on Saturday afternoon. It's the furthest that Athletic have ever made it in the FA Cup.

Matty Beadle and Luke Porritt scored the goals for Hyde in the first half. Michael Coulson came close to scoring a consolation goal for Boro in the 90th minute.

Boro fans will now watch the draw for the first round proper with an interest in who Hyde will face and will be left to dream of what might have been for another season.
