Men are being urged to down tools and swap their overalls and suits for the glitz and glamour of dancing.

Saint Catherine’s Hospice is seeking men who are up to a challenge to take part in “Strictly Learn Dancing”.

This fundraising event will see 10 couples professionally trained in two dances over 9 weeks of two-hourly Wednesday evening lessons, provided by the Anne Taylor School of Dance.  A “Strictly-Style” dance-off in front of a supportive audience and a panel of judges, who will decide who will be crowned the winning couple, at the Grand Showcase Finale on Saturday, 18th August 2012.

Female places are filling up fast, but more willing men are needed to partner our lovely ladies who have already signed up to take part in this exciting new event.

Fundraiser Louise Gravestock said “Celebrities and sportsmen such as Austin Healey, Robbie Savage and Darren Gough have recently taken part in the television series of “Strictly Come Dancing” and have had us glued to our seats on a Saturday evening showing us just how enjoyable, fun and fulfilling dancing can be”.

She added “If you have some spare time on a Wednesday evening, what better way to fill it than by learning to dance - having a go at something completely different, meeting new people and having lots of fun!”

The Dance lessons run for 9 weeks, Wednesday evenings 7 – 9pm commencing 20th June 2012 . Showcase Finale Competition on Saturday 18th August 2012
