Motorcyclist Airlifted to Hospital After Scarborough Crash

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital, after a road traffic collision in Scarborough.

It happened at around 4.45pm yesterday (Sunday July 19) on Marine Drive and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Coastguard were involved.

It involved a black and orange Honda CBR motorcycle and a red Ford Transit van.

The 59 year-old rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital, where he is described as being in a stable condition.

The YAA helicopter landed on Vincent Pier, where he was transferred from a road ambulance.

He was flown to a major trauma centre in Middlesbrough, with a head injury.

There were no other injuries.

Police are investigating.
