Fall In Covid-19 Cases In North Yorkshire Care Homes

Published by Karen Liu at 1:57pm 15th July 2020.

There are still cases of Covid-19 in care homes in North Yorkshire but the situation is improving.

That is according to the Chair of North Yorkshire's Local Resilience Forum.

Richard Flinton, who is also Chief Executive of the County Council, said:

"We're clearly very anxious about the situation in care homes and we're working very hard to provide as much support as we can to them.

There have been issues in North Yorkshire as there have been in all parts of the country around this; but again, we are seeing quite a decline in the number of care homes with active cases.

That is a pretty good improvement on where we've been at the height of this pandemic when we were in the 60-70 territory.

We continue not to be complacent around that. People who are in the care sector do a great job and we have to stand alongside them."
