Scarborough Borough Businesses Prepare For Social Distancing Measures

Published by Karen Liu at 10:56am 25th June 2020.

Social distancing measures are being made at businesses across Scarborough Borough.

The government announced earlier this week a reduction of two-metres to 'one metre plus' from July 4th.

Liz Colling, Deputy Leader of Scarborough Borough Council, said:

"The science doesn't change. The virus is still out there and that the further you are away from people, the less likely the risk of transmission.

You'll have seen some shops have perspex screens, it might mean a mask, a hand sanitiser, it might mean all three in different settings.

Each business will be slightly different but expect lots of precautions in place to allow you to sit closer.

In restaurants, I think some of it is really straight forward. IF you're back-to-back, you're probably OK but it's face-to-face that's the challenge, I think."
