Re-Opening Of Scarborough Borough Businesses Welcomed

Published by Karen Liu at 1:06pm 24th June 2020.

The re-opening of more businesses across Scarborough Borough is being welcomed by the Council.

It has given its reaction to the news that those in the hospitality, accommodation and retail sectors can welcome people back from July 4th.

The authority is hoping the summer can bring people to the Yorkshire Coast for a 'staycation'.

Liz Colling, Deputy Leader of Scarborough Borough Council, said:

"The changes mean everything to some our businesses.

This is very welcome and it allows our businesses to have some certainty that, if the weather holds like this especially, we'll have some summer.

We are really hopeful that people across the UK will stay in the UK for their holidays.

So we will need to have places for them to go; pubs, restaurants and obviously hotels and accommodation."
