Published by Karen Liu at 7:08am 23rd June 2020.

A woman has been rescued by Filey Coastguard after reports she was half way down a cliff.

It happened this morning when the team was tasked to reports of a female on the cliff between the Sailing Club and Brigg.

She was found at a place known locally as "Agony Point".

The Coastguard said:

"A rope rescue set up was established and a cliff technician secured the casualty and recovered her to safety where the Ambulance was waiting.

Thanks to RNLI Filey Lifeboat, Scarborough & Burniston Coastguard Rescue Team and Filey Police for their assistance."

I really do not understand people. It is a lovely walk and there is absolutely no need to go anywhere near the cliff edge, why would any sane person want to take that risk! It is like all the dog walkers who have dogs off their leads there, WHY? My pooch is far to valuable to me to risk her going over.

how do you actually know she was on the top and fell down, it could of been a number of reasons why she was where she was. don’t just assume you know what happened
