A 55-year-old man from North Yorkshire has died after a crash involving his motorbike and a stationary roadsweeper near Bridlington.

Emergency services were called at around 5.30am today (Tuesday 23rd June) to the A165 at Carnaby.

The road remains closed whilst specialist teams work to establish the circumstances of the incident.

Humberside Police said:

"The man’s family have been informed and are being supported by officers from our Serious Collisions Unit and our thoughts remain with them at this very difficult time.

While they are grateful to all those offering their sympathies, they have asked that the man is not named publicly at this time."

Officers investigating the incident are keen to speak to the occupants of a silver Vauxhall Meriva which was in the area at the time of the collision, who could be key witnesses.

Police would also like to speak to anyone who has dashcam footage they believe could assist them.

If you can help, call 101, quoting log number 97 of June 23.
