Scarborough Borough Shops Urged To Put Up COVID Posters

Scarborough Borough Shops Urged To Put Up COVID Posters

Published by Karen Liu at 7:01am 21st June 2020.

Businesses across Scarborough Borough are being urged to put up Coronavirus-themed signage.

It comes from the Council as it issues a guidance document to around 5,000 shops on its database.

It outlines what practical measures businesses should adopt for inside and outside their premises.

Liz Colling, Deputy Leader of Scarborough Borough Council, said:

"On the Coronavirus business page on our website, we've put all the artwork on there that we're using on lamp post signs and the wraps on the bins and things; statements to say that you're COVID secure and that you've fulfilled all the guidance thats been issued by the Government.

It's absolutely free for anybody to download and display or use as they see fit.

I think it's reassurance for customers and it's also a nice thing to be able to shout about on the high street to see that everybody has done everything they need to do.

It will encourage, and I think this is what is really important about all this, is our local businesses really need our support right now.

So it'll encourage us all to feel safe while we're shopping and to support local and spend local."

Perhaps the council could help the shopkeepers by looking at the issue of no toilet facilities in the town centre??
