Scarborough Shopping Centre To Reopen

Published by Karen Liu at 8:26am 15th June 2020.

Scarborough's Brunswick Shopping Centre is preparing to re-open today.

It has issued the following:

"A great deal of effort has gone into making Brunswick Shopping Centre a safe place for staff and customers, with measures in place such as physical signage, additional hand sanitising stations and enhanced cleaning regimes.

Everyone has a part to play in this, and we’d ask you all to take care of each and follow the social distancing guidelines as closely as possible at all times.

The toilet facilities within the centre will remain closed for the foreseeable future. This is not a decision we have taken lightly, however, we felt it was the right course of action as are unable to re-open them safely in accordance with the Government’s current social distancing guidelines. We will, of course, review this as the Government guidelines change.

Please continue to keep an eye out for our social media updates. Take care and we look forward to seeing you again soon."

The following stores will be open on Monday 15 June 2020.

  • Bodycare

All shops I can do without. What a terrible shopping centre.
One primark could replace all of those.

Very helpful, all shops open but no toilet facilities (for whatever innocuous reason). That'll stop people hanging around for too long. The Brunswick should remember that a high percentage of the residents of Scarborough are aged 70.or over.

It tells you in the article why the toilets are not open and as the over 70s are one of the most susceptible to the virus I'm sure they are grateful that people are looking out for them!
