As some tourist attractions reopen in Bridlington this week financial support is being offered to the town's B&B's

Small business in Bridlington including B&B's, who haven't yet been able to access financial support from the government during lockdown, are being urged to apply for a discretionary grant from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

The grants of up to twenty five thousand pounds are available to a range of "micro businesses"

Council Leader Richard Burton is encouraging businesses in the tourism sector to look at the scheme.

Applications for phase one of the discretionary grant scheme need to be submitted by June 21st.

Alongside many 'non-essential' shops reopening today as the lockdown restrictions are eased, animal parks and Zoos are also able to welcome back visitors.

Bridlington Bird of Prey and Animal Park say they will be reopening today. Sewerby Hall are expecting to announce this week, when they will be in a position to reopen.

Leader of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council Richard Burton says it's vital for the area to get tourist attractions up and running.
