£3,000 Donation To Scarborough Hospital

A Bridlington man has raised £3,000 for Scarborough Hospital.

Peter Hutchinson took part in the 100 kilometre challenge with friends and family.

He decided to do it after his mother recovered from Coronavirus and wanted to show appreciation to the hospital staff.

Peter said:

"Myself, Lewis Wilkinson and Alfie, my nephew in Driffield, we said we were going to do 100k in 10 days; run, walk or jog.

We managed to do 100k in six days and we ended up finishing on 140 kilometres."

On Tuesday (9th June), they all walked from Bridlington to Scarborough Hospital to deliver the cheque.

Peter added:

"We set off at 7 o'clock in the morning and we got to Scarborough Hospital and there were like 15 members of staff there waiting to clap for us. It was absolutely electric the atmosphere.

It was tough, but we all had the determination, the physical and mental strength to just push ourselves through it to see what we started right through to the end."
