Wetwheels Yorkshire, which operates on the Yorkshire Coast, is trialling a new concept.

The charity aims to get people with disabilities out to sea on a specially modified catamaran.

But due to the Coronavirus outbreak, it is having to pause all of its planned trips out on the water.

Chairman, Peter Richardson, said:

"This was something that was driven by speaking to one of our participant groups, WHISH in Whitby, and we recognise that our problems this year are nothing compared with some people who have had a really tough time.

So we wanted to do something in our very small way, that would perhaps alleviate some of the tedium of being on lockdown.

Working with our friends at the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, we're actually going to discuss the topic that's on a lot of people's minds at the moment, is there are dolphins everywhere and have been for the last couple of years.

This is a big change in what's been happening in that they're not usually seen in great numbers on the coast, but they are at the moment. So we're going to explore as to why that might be."

You can tune into 'Wetwheels Yorkshire Live!' on their Facebook page at 3pm today (Friday 22nd May) here:
