Flamborough Girl Completes Walking Challenge For Charity

Published by Karen Liu at 1:07pm 21st May 2020.

A girl from Flamborough has walked over 30 miles to raise money for charity.

Isabelle Locker, 9, took on challenge and had aimed to complete it this month.

She has managed to walk 36 miles in two weeks.

Her mum, Kate, said:

"We had been watching the unfolding of Sir Tom's efforts for his 100th birthday and Isabelle had seen it all and wanted to something to help.

So me and her dad decided that it would be good to challenge her to walk 30 miles in May.

She wasn't the biggest of walkers beforehand, so it was a bit of a challenge for her to get into the swing of it.

We actually ended up doing longer walks over less days, so it averaged at about three or four miles each walk.

we've literally walked from Dane's Dyke, all the way around the Headland and up to Bempton.

We've seen some wonderful sights and on the last walk that Isabelle did, which was an eight mile walk, we managed to see some puffins which was a really nice reward."
