Key workers in and around Scarborough and Bridlington can get tested for Coronavirus this week.

North Yorkshire County Council says a military-run mobile testing unit will be in Scarborough on Wednesday May 20th from 11am until 3pm. It will be based at the Park and Ride site on Seamer Road and is for key workers and those with priority.

The North Yorkshire CCG say there will also be a testing station in Bridlington on Thursday May 21st from 11am to 3pm, although the exact location is yet to be confirmed.

Test can be booked from 8pm the night before.

These tests are available for eligible key workers who are self-isolating because they are within the first five days of displaying symptoms of COVID-19.

The tests are also available for key workers who are self-isolating because someone else in their household is displaying symptoms. The householder displaying the symptoms can also be tested at the site with the key worker.

The testing site will also be available for children of key workers, aged between 12 to 18, who are showing symptoms. These tests will need to be conducted by the parent (advice will be given at site).

Eligible key workers will need to bring their work ID and confirmation of test booking with them to verify their role and will need to attend in their own household vehicle.  Those arriving without identification or arriving on public transport, taxis or walking will not gain access to the site will not be able to undergo a test.
