Success For Bridlington's Coronavirus Hub

Success For Bridlington's Coronavirus Hub

A Bridlington charity is being praised for its support to residents during the Coronavirus outbreak.

The Hinge Centre is working with East Riding of Yorkshire Council to operate an emergency hub at East Riding Leisure Centre.

It is thought the hub is one of the most successful ones in the whole of the authority's area.

Jo Sanders, Manager of The Hinge Centre, said:

"There's no way the Hinge would have been able to support people, to the extent that we have been doing, without working alongside the council.

From day one, we've had an absolutely brilliant system put in place and between the two agencies, I think that is what is making the Bridlington hub as successful as it is.

We originally thought that as time went on the demand for the hub would decrease.

However, it hasn't increase but it hasn't eased up either.

We're still doing between 30-40 deliveries a day which is obviously still quite high."

Jo has been speaking to Yorkshire Coast Radio's Karen Liu:

The Hinge Centre are still looking for people to help, either through volunteering or donations.

Anyone who wants to can contact them on 01262 679671 or info@thehinge.org.uk
