Bridlington Man To Do 100km Challenge For Scarborough Hospital

A man from Bridlington is raising money for Scarborough Hospital after his mother recovered from Coronavirus.

Peter Hutchinson says she had severe symptoms of COVID-19.

He is now doing the 100 kilometre challenge in ten days to show appreciation to the staff who looked after his mother.

Peter said:

"Me and Lewis Wilkinson, my neighbour across the road, we've decided we're going to do 100km in ten days, so 10k a day each; on every single street, all the villages, everywhere to try and collect as much money as we can for this unit.

We've also got my young nephew, Alfie Hutchinson, who's doing it around Driffield and Nafferton.

We're just going to absolutely do whatever it takes to get as much funds as we can.

Walking, jogging, running, whatever it takes. We're not perfect at fitness but it's going to be a challenge for us both.

We've set this crazy idea that if we get past £1500 then we're going to walk from Bridlington to Scarborough Hospital to deliver the cheque."

Peter's been talking to Yorkshire Coast Radio's Paddy in the Morning:
