East Riding Household Waste Sites Re-Opening 'Gone Well'

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has given an update on how the re-opening of its Household Waste Recycling Centres have gone.

All ten sites, including Carnaby near Bridlington, have been back open for residents since Monday but with a number of restrictions in place.

Leader Richard Burton said:

"I think they've gone very well and I'm pleased to say that people are being sensible and they're not coming at once, which is good news.

So obviously we've been able to manage the numbers quite carefully and safely.

Although the processes may take a little bit longer than you normally would at the site, but be rest assured that everything's safe and you'll be able to get rid of your rubbish in the appropriate way.

Everybody's very conscious about social distancing which is quite right, it's the Government message, and it's the right thing to do because we're all in this together."
