Firefighters in Scarborough have been dealing with two incidents in the town.

The first was a bin fire at around 7.15pm off Eastborough.

The crew were called to a barbecue being placed too close to a wheelie bin, resulting in damage being caused to the bin.

Firefighters used one hosereel jet to put out the fire and say the cause is believed to be accidental.

The second was a small fire on Scholes Park Road at around 9.30pm.

The crew dealt with a camp fire which was left unattended.

They say they used soil and manpower to put out the fire.

These incidents come after North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue issued further warnings about avoiding bonfires.
