Bridlington Town Donates Old Clubhouse to Team in Scotland

Bridlington Town is donating its old club house to another team in Scotland.

The Seasiders are placing its building with a new one, which is two storeys high with an upgraded bar and facilities.

Its Chairman, Pete Smurthwaite, said:

"Our man Dom who runs our website was looking around on social media and spotted this club in Scotland, near Glasgow, Bellshill AFC, had a problem with a fire the other weekend, which severely damaged their clubhouse.

With the situation at the moment, I said to them 'if you can provide your own transport, you can have it free of charge.'

We're still working on the logistics at the moment as whether that's still feasible for them.

But I felt it was the least I could do with a club struggling like that; we've all been there haven't we? I've been fortunate enough to be given a couple of decent grants towards the building of our new clubhouse.

So I thought it would be a nice gesture if I could help another club with that."

Pete has been speaking to Yorkshire Coast Radio's Paddy in the Morning:
