New Mental Health Campaign on Yorkshire Coast

Published by Jon Burke at 3:44pm 27th April 2020.

Local mental health charity, Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, has launched a new campaign in partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council Public Health, to help local people improve their mental health during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

The #StayWell campaign, launching on social media from today, will provide people in the local area with practical tools and tips to better manage, or improve their mental health. The tips include a variety of topics such as stress, sleep, anxiety as well as working from home, and physical activity.

Chief Executive at Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, Emma Dallimore, said:

“It’s great to be working with East Riding of Yorkshire Council Public Health on the new #StayWell campaign. We know that current situation may be having a negative impact on the mental health of people in the local area. This campaign will ensure that they have the tools and techniques they need to improve their mental health, and know what support is available.”

Public Health Lead for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Lindsay Hudson, said:

”You may be feeling stressed, worried or anxious at the moment, we want to spread the message that it is ok to feel like this, along with some tips on how to improve your mental health. We also want to let people know that support is still available if you need it, please don’t be afraid to ask.”

If you would like more information on the campaign, or would like some practical tips on how to improve your mental health – keep an eye out on the Hull and East Yorkshire Mind socials from Monday 27th April. You can find them on Facebook and Twitter @MindHEY
