Bridlington Teenager Makes Scrubs For Scarborough NHS Staff

Published by Karen Liu at 6:01am 28th April 2020.

A Bridlington teenager is making scrubs for NHS staff at Scarborough and Cross Lane Hospitals.

They are being created by Molly Green, 18, and her mother Sarah, who is a teacher at Bridlington School.

Molly, who is also Head Girl there, said:

"My mum saw a fundraising page on Facebook started Sam McBride and we just thought we might be able to help with it.

We've been doing it for a week and it started fundraising early in April; and then Chris Thomas from Bridlington Parachute Centre bought all the materials and done all the pattern cutting and then we started from there really.

Sam is the main organiser and sewer, and then there's Chris who's the fundraiser and pattern cutter.

There's about 15 sewers, some of them have been doing professionally like their whole lives, there's students and then there's me and my mum doing it as well.

So far we've done about eight sets but we're onto next load starting today.

They've sent about 55 sets up to Cross Lane Hospital."

Molly has been speaking to Yorkshire Coast Radio's Paddy in the Morning:

Molly starts her training as a nurse in September.
