Filey RNLI Gives Leftover Easter Eggs To NHS Workers

Filey Lifeboat Station has given leftover Easter eggs to NHS workers.

It is due to the town's Ladies Lifeboat Guild having to cancel their 'Easter Extravaganza' fundraising event.

Filey RNLI said on their Facebook page:

"After a quick committee chat, and with Tesco’s Filey permission (Tesco’s having donated the eggs originally to Filey Lifeboat), it was agreed that we should send the eggs to support our friends at Scarborough NHS.

With three Paramedics, a Nurse and a Doctor on the lifeboat crew, the Filey RNLI team fully understand the pressure that our NHS colleagues are under.

It’s our way to say “THANK YOU” for everything that you are doing and we hope that you enjoy them."

John Ward, Filey Lifeboat Press Officer, said:

“It was very strange not to be able to hold a fund-raising event at Easter but luckily at the moment lots of people are following the Government guidelines by staying at home.

So what better way to support the NHS than by giving them our Easter eggs?

From one emergency service to another.”
