Charity Donation Box Broken Into At Scarborough Hospital

A donation box at the main entrance of Scarborough Hospital has been broken into with its contents stolen. 

It happened shortly after 7.30pm on Thursday 9th April.

York Teaching Hospital Charity say they are "gutted".

The charity is run by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Scarborough Hospital.

A spokersperson for the charity said:

“We are shocked and saddened that someone would steal charity funding from their local hospital, particularly at a time like this when public support for the NHS is so high. These funds go directly to help staff and patients. Fortunately, we continue  to receive amazing support from our local community and  we have had some incredible donations and fundraising even during the lockdown.”

I hope they catch whoever has done this and they want there hands chopping off .
