Stay At Home Message Reiterated On Yorkshire Coast

The public are again being reminded to stay away from the coast.

The Leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Richard Burton, is re-iterating his message to stay at home.

It is in response to fears people might be tempted out over Easter.

Cllr Burton said:

"We're all in this together with the Covid-19 and it's really iprotant that people maintain that social distancing, stay at home and don't come to the coast.

Clearly crowds at the coast is a big issue, both from a social distancing point-of-view and also draining resources on the emergency services.

We really do need people to take note and the police will be active over the weekend.

They're policing very sensibly, but at the same time it's important that people really do take note and listen to all these messages that are going out.

I'm making the same message now which is stay at home, be very sensible, do not come to the coast and maintain that social distancing."

Cllr Burton has been speaking to Yorkshire Coast Radio's Jon Burke:
