Yorkshire Coast Residents Reminded To Stay In For Easter

Published by Karen Liu at 7:20am 7th April 2020.

Residents on the Yorkshire Coast are being reminded again to stay in as Easter weekend approaches.

The Leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council says it is so important we work together to save lives as people are dying.

We are now into week three of social distancing.

Richard Burton said:

"The weather was lovely and normally we would expect lot of people to come to the coast.

I want to thank everybody as it was quiet on the coast and undoubtedly, people are taking notice of the government measures.

However, we've got Easter coming up and it's normally the start of the season.

We're asking people again to stay away please.

The car parks will be closed and obviously, the shops will be closed.

This is serious and obviously we are in it together; we need everybody to keep doing it.

It is hard but once again, the more we can keep up with this, and keep doing it, hopefully the sooner we'll get through all this issue but in the meantime, Easter's a very busy time for us and obviously I am asking people again, to really please stay away and to stay safe to protect the NHS".
