Bridlington Town Chairman on League Season Abandonment

Bridlington Town Chairman on League Season Abandonment

Published by Matthew Pells at 6:01am 29th March 2020.

The Football season for our local sides came to an end this week as the FA ended the lower league competitions and expunged all the results from the season so far.

There will be no further fixtures for Scarborough Athletic or Whitby Town in the Bet Victor Northern Premier League or for Bridlington Town in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League. There will also be no promotion or relegation from the leagues this season.

Bridlington Town Chairman, Pete Smurthwaite, says the decision will have big financial implications for the club, but was the right thing to do.

Pete says there will be a financial impact on the club but at least now he can plan for next season.
