Headlands School to Close

Headlands School to Close

Published by Matthew Pells at 5:09pm 18th March 2020.

Headlands School in Bridlington is closing due to staff shortages.

In a letter to parents the Head teacher Mrs Bone said...

Unfortunately, in light of the Government’s announcement in respect of social distancing and self-isolation for vulnerable groups, 60% of Headlands School team fall into this category.

The Senior Team and I have had to make the incredibly difficult decision to now fully close Headlands School. We will await further Government updates.

This is a decision we have had to make based on our ability to operate safe teaching staffing levels.

Children entitled to free school meals who are not displaying any Coronavirus symptoms, nor have any family members displaying the symptoms, will still be able to collect a ‘grab bag meal’ from the school’s main reception area between 12.30pm and 1pm during this period.

Thank you to the 14-Forty team for their continued support in providing this service to our students and their families.

Teaching will now be online from Thursday 19th March 2020. Students will be able to access online school work during school hours (8.30am and 2.45pm). Students will also be able to communicate directly with their teachers, again during school hours only.

We would politely ask students not to contact teachers outside of these hours.

We will continue to update you via email, Facebook and our school website.

Should you wish to communicate with the school please contact admin@headlandsschool.co.uk in the first instance.

Finally, a huge thank you to the Headlands School community, in particular our amazing students, for your ongoing support during these incredibly tense, and worrying times.

Please take care,

Mrs Bone
