Bridlington School to Close

Bridlington School to Close

Published by Matthew Pells at 4:15pm 18th March 2020.

Bridlington School has announced it will be fully closed from 4pm the evening.

The school partially closed earlier in the week due to shortages of staff who were self-isolating. Now in a letter posted on the school's website, headteacher Mrs Parker-Randall has confirmed the school will be fully closed until further notice.

"Unfortunately, in light of the Government's announcement in respect of social distancing and self-isolation for vulnerable groups, 60% of Bridlington School staff team fall into this category. The Governors, Senior Leadership Team and I have had to make the incredibly difficult decision to now fully close Bridlington School to all students as of 4pm this evening (Wednesday 18 March). We will await further Government updates.

This pragmatic and very difficult decision has been made based on our ability to operate safe teaching staffing levels.

Children entitled to free school meals who are not displaying any Coronavirus symptoms, nor have any family members displaying the symptoms, will still be able to collect a ‘grab bag meal’ from the schools main reception area between 12 noon and 12.30pm during this period.  Thank you to the 14-Forty team for their continued support in providing this service to our students & their families.

Resources for all student work will now be on Show My Homework.

We will continue to update you via text message, social media and our school website.

Should you wish to communicate with the school please contact school office@Bridlingtonschool.org.uk in the first instance.

Finally a huge thank you to the Bridlington School community, in particular our amazing students, for your ongoing support during these incredibly tense, and worrying times.

Please take care, Mrs Parker-Randall "
