Scarborough YMCA Theatre Suspends All Shows

Published by Matthew Pells at 10:10pm 16th March 2020.

Scarborough's YMCA Theatre has suspended all of it's activities as a result of the latest Government advice on COVID-19.

In a statement on their website the theatre say..

"We regret to announce that, in light of the most recent official government advice, the YMCA has suspended all activities.

All shows scheduled between now and the 19th April at the YMCA Theatre have been cancelled.

All other YMCA activities have been cancelled until 6th April.  During this time, we will continue to keep the situation under constant review.

If you have bought tickets to a show that has been cancelled, then you are entitled to a refund. Many theatres are charitable enterprises like the YMCA Theatre, and have reached out to their audiences and asked for their support by donating their tickets. While ticketholders are all entitled to a refund for cancelled performances, the financial impact that refunding these tickets will have on us is vast. We urge anyone who can afford to donate the cost of their ticket, to show their support by doing so.

Our Advance Box Office will be open between 10am and 4pm each weekday until informed otherwise for enquiries and refund information.  Please bear with us during this time as we expect to be very busy.

As you will imagine, we are absolutely devastated to be in this position.  We only hope the situation improves rapidly and we are able to resume normal operations again soon.

You may have lots of questions, and we may not yet have all of the answers, so please bear with us while we get to grips with this very challenging situation.

We will continue to provide updates via our website and social channels."
