The Rotary Club of Scarborough Cavaliers have raised £1,000 for the Rainbow Centre, by running a tombola at this year’s Scarborough Real Ale and Cider Festival.

The event, which took place in the Ocean Room of the Spa Complex for three days from March 5-7, saw over 1,500 people attend.

Member of the Rotary Club of Scarborough Cavaliers, Peter Howgate, said:

“Our grand tombola has become an established feature of the festival and we are really grateful to 20 local businesses that donated prizes.

We had more than 200 prizes which ranged from gifts of food, toiletries, tokens, as well as bottles of wines and spirits.”

The CAMRA festival had 75 real ales on offer from smoky deep and dark stouts to light golden sparkling ales, together with over 25 ciders and perries, including several local treats.

Stewart Campbell, of CAMRA, said:

“The Rotary Club are always welcome with their tombola in aid of local causes and complements CAMRA’s support for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Prostate Cancer relief.”
