Despite COVID-19 claiming the entire professional football programme in the UK and a number of non-League clashes, Scarborough Athletic and Whitby both got a game in, on Saturday.

Boro, whose manager Darren Kelly insisted they would fight on for a play-off spot, despite having played more games than clubs around them, won 1-0 at Basford.

The Nottinghamshire outfit are third currently so it was a terrific victory as James Walshaw's strike, midway through the first half, proved conclusive.

Whitby Town, meanwhile, came from behind to draw 2-2 at Radcliffe. The Lancastrians netted twice in the last five minutes of the first half, but Town rallied early in the second period. Jassem Sukar smashed in point-blank and Paul Blackett netted a penalty, just before the hour.

On Tuesday, Scarborough host Marske in the North Riding Senior Cup, while Whitby visit another promotion contender, FC United of Manchester, subject to a Northern Premier League meeting on Monday.

Bridlington Town have had their games suspended, like all clubs in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League.

In rugby,  Scarborough lost 20-17 at home to Morley, but Bridlington beat Keighley 30-25.
