Traffic delays caused by a collision in Scarborough are easing.

It was at the junction of Scalby Road, Falsgrave Road and Stepney Road earlier this morning.

It's reported to have involved two vehicles.

Earlier, police closed the approach to the roundabout from Stepney Road, but we understand that's re-opened.

Traffic, which had built up coming into town on Seamer Road, has also cleared.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said:

"This was a two vehicle minor RTC between a red Kia and a silver Mercedes which was reported shortly before 8am today (12 March).

There were no injuries, but the 79 year-old passenger of the Mercedes was treated for shock.

The road was closed to enable recovery.

The 39 year-old driver of the Mercedes was arrested in connection with the collision."
