Bridlington Residents Could Save Money On Energy Bills

Published by the Yorkshire Coast Radio News Team at 7:02am 12th March 2020.

An event in Bridlington today could help residents save money on their energy bills.

Almost 1,000 East Riding households have so far opted to switch energy supplier in the latest YORSwitch round before the deadline at midnight on Tuesday 24th March.

Since 2013, YORSwitch has switched more than 30,000 households and delivered more than £6.3million savings for East Riding residents.

In the latest round, personal offers have been issued to more than 5,000 households that have registered an interest and have until the 24th March deadline to switch.

The average saving this time around is £275 per household so residents are encouraged to make the saving. And households have the opportunity to make a green option as one of the winning suppliers provides energy “that’s good for the planet”.

Residents looking for additional support before the March switching deadline can attend an event in Bridlington today at the town's North Library from 9.30am to 12 noon.

Residents can visit and register for YORSwitch here: www.eastriding.gov.uk/yorswitch.

Alternatively, call (01482) 393939 or – if residents do not have access to the internet – visit any local East Riding of Yorkshire Council customer service centre to register. It is advised that residents have a latest energy bill to hand when registering.

If residents need to visit one of the council’s customer service centres, please do so before Friday 13th March to allow time for registration to be made.
